Burnaby Harmonious Sinfonia – About the Orchestra
Burnaby Harmonious Sinfonia is a community-based orchestra in Burnaby dedicated to promoting orchestral music and musical exchange. The orchestra provides a welcoming and professional platform for music lovers of different backgrounds and skill levels to learn, rehearse, and perform together.

The orchestra welcomes beginners, intermediate players, and experienced musicians. Rehearsals and sectional training are arranged according to each musician’s level, allowing every member to develop ensemble skills, musical understanding, and stage experience in a friendly and supportive environment. Through regular performances and concerts, members also have opportunities to bring their musical achievements to the stage and share the joy of music with the community.
The orchestra is conducted by Dr. Gilbert Sak, who brings more than 20 years of experience in orchestral performance and conducting. Under his professional guidance, members explore orchestral works from a wide range of musical periods and styles.

Burnaby Harmonious Sinfonia believes that music should have no boundaries of age or ability. Through ensemble playing, collaboration, and performance, the orchestra aims to bring music lovers together, build friendships, strengthen community connections, and inspire more people to discover the beauty and joy of orchestral music.
Hope & Action Society
Hope & Action Society is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization dedicated to community service, arts and culture, and community connection. Guided by the belief that “Hope brightens lives, and action changes the world,” the Society encourages its members to turn compassion into action by supporting the community, helping those in need, and bringing people together through arts and cultural activities.

The Society actively promotes diverse forms of artistic development and currently supports several musical ensembles, including the Her Voice Choir, Voice of Hope Children’s Choir, and Voice of Hope Chamber Orchestra, providing welcoming and professional musical platforms for people of different ages.

The Her Voice Choir performs a diverse repertoire of Chinese and international classics as well as popular music, celebrating confidence, elegance, and vitality through song. The Voice of Hope Children’s Choir nurtures children’s interest in music while developing teamwork and confidence on stage. The Voice of Hope Chamber Orchestra brings together young musicians with instrumental experience, giving them opportunities to strengthen their ensemble skills and gain valuable performance experience.

Vancouver Cantonese Choir is a chamber choir dedicated to promoting and developing Cantonese choral music. Through high-quality performances, music education, and cross-cultural collaboration, the choir introduces the unique beauty of Cantonese music to audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds.
